I’ve used this two times, and I took about 4 grams. My experinece with it everything I look at seems to glitch a little bit, like a screen glitching. It also have me in deep thoughts.
Very fragrant, absolutely amazing, & nice coloration. Honestly, it’s so crazy they can ethically source this, and price it this well considering the quality. Top tier work from Amentara AS PER USUAL!! Just a quick note, the egyptians used red wine, they’d bury their kings w/ it. They derived their gods from this flower. I see a lot of people online who say placebo, or that they don’t feel anything. And that’s just not the case. It’s very very psychoactive once you get up there w/ good quality product, and utilize a proper extraction. Small doses feel subtle for me. I get this gentle, warm feeling that washes over me after about 20 minutes. Nothing crazy psychedelic or anything, but my thoughts definitely flow differently, more creative and less linear. Colors seem a bit richer too, I take a liking a bit more to music. The dream enhancement is the most consistent effect for me though, way more vivid and I actually remember them the next day. With bigger doses, there’s this this definite shift in perception, I feel more floaty, the body high is way more pronounced, kinda’ this heavy, relaxed feeling. Dream wise, I’ve had some straight up lucid dreams on higher doses where I knew I was dreaming and could kinda direct what was happening. and a bit dissociative esque, and psychedelic at higher doses. hot water will only pull one of the alkaloids out as opposed to the full spectrum you’d get with a spirit, or a wine If you get to those high doses, you can really feel it’s seriously seriously psychoactive. It seems like via personal experimentation and research, 60-75% ethanol seems to be the best ethanol percentage to maintain a nonpolar bias. 80-90%+, you’re pulling more bittery compounds, and just compounds which aren’t the psychoactive constituents of which you want in essence. Studies show you can get full alkaloid content from plant material with just 24 hours of soaking in ethanol. When you let plant material sit in alcohol for days or weeks, you’re mostly pulling extra tannins, chlorophyll, waxes, and other compounds that make it taste harsh and bitter. The alkaloids are already out. seed extracts showed a clear pattern where astringency and bitterness kept increasing the longer they extracted. I find one hour to be perfect, in that it’ll pull all the alkaloids. You’ll see a lot online about longer soaks, but I wouldn’t soak it in a wine, or anything with ethanol for longer than 72 hours. The longer you go, the more it’ll degrade, and form new compounds of which you don’t want, so don’t do these month long soaks especially if you don’t have the perfect environment, these alkaloids are very sensitive to oxygen, and light. If you like longer soaks, that’s okay, if you want that complex flavor, go ahead, I love that idea, but it is not necessary whatsoever, and will be more prone to degradation among other potential issues. Their extract is great too, I used to think blue lotus was placebo too after just trying a tea, and subpar products, but after utilizing an alcohol, and amentara’s extract, I absolutely have turned this new leaf and understood why the egyptians adored it so so much. The pharmacology is fascinating, it has like the broadest shotgun receptor site effect, it hits so many receptors which is why it probably is so unique, and amazing in its feel. It’s so sad that it has all these misconceptions driven by misinformation, terrible products like on etsy, I’ve seen mislabeled products, non psychoactive lotuses dyed different colors, I’ve even done lab tests on some and found synthetic cannabinoids. The market isn’t well regulated, and there’s a lot of tricksters now selling crap, it’s going to act as a driver for the misinformation in regards to blue lotus even more. Please be safe, and only buy off someone w/ COA’s. I’ve never had an issue with amentara’s products, they ship practically every day, it always comes fast, always good quality, I love the stickers they add, and have NEVER EVER been failed by them, truly the best price to product quality and customer support I’ve ever witnessed in this industry, and that sounds far out there, but it’s true. Lila, Christian, Gabe, Renee, and others on their team always have been incredibly kind, helpful, and I have never got a hint of angst, anger, or disapproval. They’re some of the best people in this space, and truly care about what they sell. Just talking to them about anything has always left me learning something new, and genuinely loving their brand even more.
Surprised to see no ratings on this. This in my opinion is one of the best value propositions if not the best on the site. The acetylcholine angle in the literature is probably coming from some in vitro work, but the alkaloids moreso work as modulators, they’re essentially PAM’s (positive allosteric modulators), It’s really interesting it doesn’t effect motor disruption though, and helps you to sleep, relax, or work. It’s just so fascinating because it doesn’t straight up hammer gaba receptors like benzos do, you don’t get significant motor impairment like you do on benzos and it still even in literature has anxiolytic effects akin to diazepam, genuinely one of the best bang4buck products amentara has, it doesn’t reinforce addiction like benzos do, never had a withdrawal; it also has a really interesting safety profile, and ceiling, never felt addicted and to my knowledge there’s not a single case of addiction, it has this ceiling which makes it have such a good safety profile. Also another thing is the respiratory depression risk with other gaba drugs whereas mulungu sidesteps most of that, you’re not going to black out or stop breathing, it really integrates with your endogenous gaba tone. A good stack to potentiate the effects of mulungu is magnolia bark, anecdotal reports typically report a 300% improvement in the anxiolytic effect exhibited by mulungu when taken in tandem. The active compounds in magnolia bark enhance both phasic and tonic gabaergic neurotransmission, and it does a good bit more you can find if you look online, but essentially stacking them broadens the gabaergic coverage without either compound needing to act as a full agonist. Honestly one of my favorite products, such a good price, and lasts a while. I just mix it directly in some tea, dissolving the extract in some warm/hot water, just enough to dissolve it, you don’t need very long steep times bc its already extracted, 3-5pH (a lil’ citric acid) helps a tad with solubility. Stay under 60c / 140f to avoid degradation of the alkaloids, just to be safe, it is relatively heat stable, but since they’re already isolated alkaloids, they’re a bit more sensitive to heat. Always had awesome sleep, never woke up feeling groggy, I dream quite often on it, it helps me be productive during the day without feeling super toned down, albeit it is dose sensitive, if I take too much during the day, it can make me TOO sedated, but that is user error. Absolute love, love this product!
This was my attempt to get off from kratom. The first time I took this tincture I felt very wierd and anxious, similar to what weed does to me, just without the overwhelming high.
After that though I felt fine taking it, found myself laughing more often throughout the work day and felt overall a little lighter.
I feel like I’d need to buy atleast one of these every week, to really make it worth it for me though, which is unfortunately too expensive for me …and sadly I spilt likea quarter of it in my pocket. I give this 5 stars because of the quality and care that was put into it and does work. If price wasn’t an issue for you, then i’d buy these without a doubt.
