How to Use the Amanita Starter Kit

A first-timer’s guide

Start Simple, Start Low

If this is your first time exploring Amanita, we recommend beginning with the prepared products in the kit — the capsules or the chocolate.

These options are:

  • Carefully portioned

  • Easy to use

  • Consistent from dose to dose

Suggested starting point

  • 1–3 capsules or

  • 1–3 pieces of chocolate

These are intentionally conservative starting ranges. Everyone responds differently, and Amanita can feel subtle at first.


If You Don’t Feel Much — That’s Normal

Many people don’t feel strong effects on their first experience. This doesn’t mean it “didn’t work.”

Amanita often rewards patience and gradual exploration.

If you took:

  • 2 capsules and felt little or nothing → try 4–5 next time

  • 1–2 pieces of chocolate with minimal effect → gently increase next session

There’s no rush. The goal is to learn how your body responds.

Exploring Microdoses (Day & Evening)

A lot of people enjoy Amanita in low, functional amounts.

You may want to experiment with:

  • Daytime microdoses to see how it fits into your normal routine

  • Afternoon or evening microdoses to explore a more relaxed or dreamy feel

Some people find small amounts useful during the day, while others prefer them later on. Take notes and see what feels right for you.

Moving Beyond Microdoses (When You’re Ready)

If you’re enjoying smaller amounts, you can gradually explore higher doses — slowly and intentionally.

A few general patterns people report:

  • Medium to higher doses are usually reserved for afternoons or evenings

  • These are often explored in a safe, comfortable setting

  • Most people don’t use medium or higher doses as “functional” daytime amounts

Microdoses tend to be the better fit when you still want to stay fully engaged with daily responsibilities.

When to Try the Raw Caps

We recommend saving the raw Amanita caps until after you’ve spent time with the capsules or chocolate.

This is where Amanita becomes more nuanced and customizable.

About Decarboxylation (Why Preparation Matters)

Raw Amanita contains both ibotenic acid and muscimol.

When Amanita is prepared using heat and acidity (for example, a hot water extraction with lemon), some of the ibotenic acid converts into muscimol.

Many people describe this as:

  • Less stimulating

  • More relaxing

  • More dreamy or sleep-oriented

This is why teas made from the caps can feel different from capsules or powders.
